What’s Popcorn +Rubi

At Popcorn + Rubi, our name is a little reflection of the love and care we pour into every story.

Popcorn, Calvin’s cat, represents the playful bursts of joy that make a wedding day so much fun. Rubi, Leila’s dog, is named after the ruby — a symbol of something precious, timeless and beautifully rare.

Together, they capture how we see weddings: a celebration filled with laughter and unexpected moments, while also being deeply meaningful, elegant and truly precious.

The laughter, the glances, and everything in between — that’s what Popcorn + Rubi is all about!

The People Behind the Stories

We’re a small team of seven photographers, filmmakers and creatives, brought together by a shared love for storytelling and a genuine passion for what we do. With years of experience across weddings, photography, film and cinematography, we each bring our own perspective, creative style and expertise to the team.

  • Our studio name is inspired by our two adorable pets—Calvin’s mischievous cat, Popcorn, and Leila’s lovable dog, Rubi. Just like how we cherish our pets, we pour that same love and care into every frame and moment we capture at your wedding.

  • It all started when Calvin and Leila realized their shared passion for creating meaningful, beautiful stories. With Calvin’s background in film and Leila’s artistic touch, we teamed up to combine our strengths and create something truly special for our clients.
